Fun on the Lavender Farm

This summer, I’ve challenged myself to use our DSLR camera more than my iPhone. It’s only been a few weeks, but I’m so glad I did! We’ve gotten so many great family photos, I’ve already got an order going for new prints (and if you know me, I’m all about hanging personal photos!).

This weekend we decided to get out of the house and take our camera to a lavender farm 🌿. I was influenced by NJmom.com and visited Orchard View Lavender Farm in Port Murray, NJ. Guys, this farm is not only a great little place for toddlers to run around, but it’s probably one of the most beautiful farms I’ve seen in NJ.

The farm isn’t huge, but there are so many great spots for photo ops and shade to relax under, you won’t care—also, there are chickens! You can’t go wrong with chickens. And Ellis absolutely loved it, so toddler approved!

The farm also offers pick-your-own lavender and workshops, just not on the weekends (and by appointment due to Covid-19 currently). If you’re in the Northern/Central NJ area, it’s worth the drive!

If you’re thinking about getting a DSLR camera for personal use, do it! It’s so worth it. I highly recommend the Canon Rebel series for beginners. They’re very user friendly.
